The Pastoral Leadership Team has defined its vision for the future of Mount Argus parish and its work over the next 3-4 years. We will be publishing this to all parishioners in the new year, but would like to ask you, our Web readers, to review it for us.
Please use the 'contact us' button on the left to give us your feedback - is it clear? does it reflect the kind of parish you think we should be? is there anything missing?
We would very much appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

The role of the Pastoral Leadership Team
The Pastoral Leadership Team will be the executive leadership group in the parish whose purpose is to promote the mission of the Church and to embody the expression of this mission as articulated in the Mission Statement of this Passionist parish of Mount Argus. While respecting the particular law of the Church (536 of the Code of Canon Law) and the unique nature of the full time parish team, the Pastoral Leadership Team will seek to pave the way in developing a genuinely collaborative model of leadership between laity and priests in the parish of Mount Argus. Through its experience, insights and expertise, and through engaging in a process of prayerful listening to each other, to the whole parish, and to God, the Pastoral Leadership Team will try to identify, implement and evaluate those pastoral initiatives and policies best suited to the spread of the Gospel in this parish.
The Vision
The parish bears Witness to the message of Jesus Christ by building a community where all feel Welcome, where we care for each others' Welfare, and where Worship and the Word of God are at the centre of our lives. Communications will be a key tool in implementing our vision. The Pastoral Leadership Team will endeavour to use all the available media to communicate with the parish and we will actively work towards a collaborative parish where all parishioners feel that they belong and have a voice.
Welcome & Welfare
We envisage a parish where all will feel welcome coming to the Church, in participating in the various ministry groups and in the community. How can we greet the stranger if we do not recognise each other? We will put greater emphasis on people getting to know each other as a means of building a community where the dignity of each person is respected, valued and affirmed. Our commitment is to care for all the people of our community.
Word and Worship
Liturgy and the Word of God are at the centre of the life of Mount Argus Parish. We will explore ways of improving our existing liturgies, introducing new forms of liturgy and if necessary adapting the space in the Church to facilitate these. We will focus on developing and deepening the faith among both young and mature parishioners. Mount Argus Parish values its links with the wider Church at every level and with the Passionist Congregation. The Pastoral Leadership Team is committed to strengthening and developing these links in positive and creative ways.
