Fr. Frank Keevins

Fr. Frank Keevins, C.P.
Parish Priest

Fr. Frank was born in Glasgow in 1951.  He qualified and worked as an accountant before joining the Passionists in 1975.  After studying in Ireland and in Rome he was ordained in Glasgow in 1983, remaining there as Vocations Director for Scotland and as part of a preaching team.

Fr. Frank returned to Ireland in 1986 and spent the following six years teaching and as Director of Postulants, while continuing a ministry of preaching, spiritual direction and directed retreats.  From 1992 until 1996 he was Novice Master for the North European region of Passionists based at Minsteracres in Co. Durham, although a year of that time, when there were no novices, was spent in South Africa and Botswana.

From 1996 to 2001 he was parish priest and Rector at Prestonpans on the east coast of Scotland, before assuming the same roles from 2001 to 2008 in Mount Argus, where he was fortunate to preside over the 150th anniversary of the Passionists in Mount Argus and the Canonisation of St. Charles.

Now Assistant Provincial and Provincial Bursar, he returned to the role of parish priest in Mount Argus in October 2010, having spent the previous two years bringing the Triduum of Hope around the country to spread devotion to St. Charles.  Fr. Frank enjoys playing and singing with the Mount Argus Folk Group and reading books of all kinds; he suffers mainly from following Glasgow Celtic football club.

Fr. Ignatius Waters, c.p.

Fr. Ignatius Waters, c.p.

Fr. Ignatius came to Mount Argus 32 years ago as Parish Priest and Rector but because the community was so large (60 men including many students), he did not have much role in the parish.  Most of his life in ministry has been in teaching, including the formation of Passionists students, and in Provincial administration and has always had a longing to work with 'normal' people!

He went to South Africa in 1998 to do that but ended up again with students and as Regional Superior.  When he returned to Ireland in February 2006, he worked for a year and a half in Avoca, Co. Wicklow and for one year in the nearby Wicklow town of Greystones, at last doing normal priestly work that he loves.

Fr. Ignatius returned to Mount Argus in September 2008.
