Communitylink is the Mount Argus Parish Newsletter that is delivered twice a year to all the houses of the Parish.
(There's a lot more to read about communitylink so click on the 'Read More' link below to get the full story!)
Originally founded in 1998, its mission was to keep people informed about activities that were ongoing in the Parish and to publicise all special occasions. In order to reach out to the whole community, whether they were churchgoers or not, it was decided to deliver the newsletters to the houses, as well as leave them at the back of the church. This meant that there was a wider audience and consequently, the content of the newsletter would be more varied and inclusive.
The newsletter has covered all the important events of the Parish since it was first published. It celebrated the Parish Silver Jubilee in Autumn 1999 as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Gárda Síochána in Spring 2002. It always includes reminiscences of by-gone days in the area as well as the latest changes that are taking place. It dealt in detail with the 'Mount Argus : Looking Forward' process in the Spring 2004 issue. Other issues have had humbler themes - such as Local Groups and Volunteering - but it has also had its moments of 'celebrity', its greatest scoop being a special interview with President Mary McAleese. Perhaps its most important contribution has been its adoption of the Leratong project in South Africa. This is a hospice for Aids sufferers which was set up by Fr Kieran Creagh C.P. The communitylink team decided to promote this very worthy project and has publicised fundraising events and published regular updates in the newsletter since then.

The communitylink team is as follows: Hugh Kearns: editor, June Griffin: co-ordinator, Emily O'Brien, Michaela O'Shea and Eimear Herron: editorial staff, Eoin Mac Lochlainn: design, Kevin McSherry: page makeup.
